I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to request that

You will state to Lord Granville that provision is made in the Consular Estimate £900 on account of allowances to Colonial Auditor & Assistant at Hong-Kong, for auditing expenses incurred at the Consulates in Chungking, &c. and request that Lord Granville will take into consideration the great benefit which the Colony derives from the Treasury of State
